The Role

As a Relationship Director with us, you will pro-actively maintain a portfolio of Real Estate Finance customers and grow this customer base through the acquisition of new relationships with the following criteria:

  • Total group exposure >£2.5m and <£10m
  • Customers with group exposure <£2.5m where the risk profile dictates a closer monitoring regime at the discretion of STB Credit Committee/Head of Risk/MD REF.

Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Deliver a continuous pipeline of new business opportunities through (a) referrals from existing customers (b) resolicitation of existing customers and (c) developing new high quality introducers (e.g. professionals/geographically important).
  • Accountable for pro-active management (Credit, Financial, Operational, Reputational) of the portfolio from origination, in-life to close-out/repayment in line with company policy and procedures.
  • Maintain and grow an introducer network to support requirement for new business. Build strong relationships with those sources to support the origination of REF transactions, developing new markets and competitor intelligence.
  • Optimising Risk Weighted Assets, liquidity management (e.g. use of variable and fixed rate), Return on equity / profitability of individual deals and the portfolio as a whole through appropriate customer negotiations.
  • Comply with REF strategy, risk, regulatory and operational policies.
  • To positively represent and promote the REF proposition in the external market.
  • Collaborate with the wider REF team and other internal business units to deliver great customer outcomes.
  • Ability to articulate new business propositions and annual reviews (Quality credit applications, deal specifics and detailed risk appraisals) to STB Credit Committee.
  • Accountable for execution of all Conditions Precedent and Conditions Subsequent as agreed with the Credit sanctioning body.
  • Accountable for the completion of detailed analysis of professional panel input as part of the credit application process, including valuations, IMS reports, legal input
  • Responsible for ensuring the preparation and completion of Customer Due Diligence / Anti-Money Laundering documentation

  • Require advanced technical skills and experience in the structuring of REF transactions/customer proposals to achieve best outcomes for customers and the Bank.
  • Extensive experience of UK Real Estate Finance within the Financial Services Industry.
  • Proven track record in key relationship management and business origination / development

About The Company
