What you will do
Working within the existing in-house IT team and reporting to the Software Delivery Director as a Solution Architect, you will be responsible for designing and implementing robust, scalable, and secure solutions to meet our business needs. Working closely with stakeholders across the organisation, you will analyse requirements, evaluate existing systems, and propose innovative technical designs. Your expertise will ensure that technology solutions align with business objectives, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the bank's business processes, systems, and strategic objectives.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and analyse requirements, translating them into technical specifications and architectural designs.
- Design end-to-end solutions that encompass applications, infrastructure, data, and security considerations.
- Evaluate existing systems and propose architectural enhancements to improve efficiency, scalability, and resilience.
- Identify and mitigate risks, ensuring compliance with regulatory and security standards.
- Collaborate with IT teams to guide the implementation of designs and ensure adherence to best practices.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to IT teams, promoting excellence in solution design and implementation.
- Drive innovation by staying up to date with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in the banking sector.
- Collaborate with the business units, change teams and other stakeholders to align technology solutions with the overall IT strategy and roadmap.
- Ownership of the Technical Design Authority (TDA) for STB group. Will be responsible for presenting and seeking sign off for all technical solutions.
- Ensure best use of existing technology within group and drive simplification/cost reduction.
What you will bring
Strong expertise in designing and implementing enterprise-level solutions, encompassing applications, infrastructure, and data.
Proficiency in architectural patterns, frameworks, and methodologies.
Experience with cloud technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and knowledge of hybrid cloud architectures.
Familiarity with modern development practices
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to balance business requirements and technical constraints.
Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, capable of effectively engaging with both technical and non-technical audiences.
