About The Role

Our customers are at the heart of everything we do therefore, when they are no longer able to repay their motor finance agreements and internal collections procedures have been exhausted, we need to ensure we take appropriate and effective recovery action that protect the best interests of the customer whilst minimising bad debt losses.  

The Specialist Recoveries Team are responsible for multiple high risk processes that represent significant opportunities to deliver against commercial requirements whilst protecting our customer centric approach throughout late stage arrears management.

About the role 

  • Ensure all allocated collections work queues are worked and that the most appropriate and effective action is undertaken in a professional manner within agreed SLA’s

  • Ensure customer agreements are coded correctly to ensure appropriate provisioning

  • Instruct external repossession agencies where necessary, proving all relevant information to increase potential for successful recovery (including collection of Voluntary Termination / Surrendered agreements)

  • Instruct internal / external debtor tracing activity where required

  • Make recommendations for legal placement to recover assets and/or pursue outstanding debt (for example, Court Orders and Monetary Judgments)

  • Process the return of the Company’s assets through the repossession and remarketing (auction) procedure

  • Review and select accounts for external DCA placement and /or debt sale

  • Develop and maintain effective business relationships with third party service providers – in particular repossession agencies, auction services and solicitors

  • Provide customers and clients with a professional and efficient service in an enthusiastic manner at all times

  • Complete third party invoice reconciliation within agreed SLA’s

  • Ensure appropriate treatment of deceased agreements

  • Accurate data entry to ensure proceeds of sale / incoming funds are captured within the collections platform

 What you will bring

  • Previous regulated collections experience is essential for this role, preferably within the motor finance sector

  • Knowledge of insolvency practices and debt management beneficial

  • An operational understanding of FCA principles and the Consumer Credit Sourcebook (CONC)

  • Adaptable and solutions focused

  • Self-motivated with a demonstrable ability to work with autonomy

  • Attention to detail
