As part of the Group Finance Team, the Head of Reporting and Tax is responsible for delivering the group's consolidated and subsidiary financial statements, advising on complex technical accounting matters and the production of Tax returns and compliance with Tax regulation.
will lead and be accountable for the production of the interim and year-end consolidated public accounts ensuring compliance with all relevant accounting policies and standards managing the timeline and collection of the information required from various teams across the firm and owning the relationship with the external audit team to ensure a seamless audit process.
Key Responsibilities
Subject matter expert in technical accounting including IFRS 9.
Preparing technical accounting papers - in particular relating to acquisitions, disposals, new business areas and new accounting standards.
Presenting technical accounting papers to Board Audit Committee.
Required knowledge and experience
Technical accounting knowledge (IFRS) and Tax
Ability to interpret complex and detailed accounting, tax or regulatory requirements and apply them to the Group’s circumstances
Able to clearly explain technical areas such as accounting judgements to the Board and its committees, thereby ensuring informed buy-in
Qualifications
Accounting qualification: ACA, ACCA or CIMA, and 5-7 years post qualification
