About the Role
Are you ready to take ownership of a critical function that shapes financial strategy and drives business insight? We’re looking for a strategic leader to own the IFRS9 month-end reporting and loss forecasting processes, ensuring robust analysis and actionable insights that influence decision-making at the highest level.
This is a high-impact role where you’ll champion continuous improvement, challenge assumptions, and collaborate with key stakeholders to enhance impairment forecasting and reporting capabilities. Your work will directly support regulatory compliance and strengthen our financial resilience.
What You’ll Do
- Lead IFRS9 Reporting: Own the month-end reporting process, ensuring accuracy, alignment, and insightful analysis of impairment metrics.
- Drive Insight: Present key outputs to senior forums, explain variances, and propose Post Model Adjustments (PMAs) backed by strong rationale.
- Support Governance & Audit: Partner with External Reporting and respond to auditor queries, ensuring transparency and compliance.
- Forecast Losses: Coordinate the loss forecasting process, challenging assumptions and documenting inputs to deliver reliable projections.
- Model Oversight: Act as a key finance stakeholder in reviewing IFRS9 model changes, methodology, and assumptions.
- Strategic Projects: Lead initiatives to improve reporting efficiency, data quality, and analytical capability.
What We’re Looking For
- A numerical degree (Maths, Statistics, Computer Science or similar).
- Proven experience leading IFRS9 reporting or modelling processes.
- Strong understanding of IFRS9 components (PD, EAD, LGD, staging, etc.).
- Advanced Excel skills; SAS/SQL knowledge is a plus.
- Ability to translate technical detail into clear insights for senior stakeholders.
- Strategic mindset with a passion for continuous improvement.
- Knowledge of banking risk management and regulatory frameworks (Basel, CRR, EBA, IFRS9).
